Using Alexa Thermostat Commands is a great way to add handsfree control of your smart thermostat, that can make you more comfortable and increase the functionality of your smart home.
I’ve found that I use Alexa Thermostat Commands on a daily basis because one of my favorite things to do is adjust the thermostat temperature from my bed with my voice if I’m too hot or too cold without needing to reach for my phone. I don’t like to sleep with the cell phone right next to my head so it’s often just out of reach and I can adjust the thermostat temperature by speaking to Alexa.
I also use Alexa Thermostat commands while I’m moving throughout the house durring my daily activities and if I find I’m too hot or to cold I just tell the nearest Alexa device to turn up or down the temperature using my voice.
I prefer using Alexa Thermostat voice commands to adjust the temperature over using my phone because I feel like I’m already on my phone to much and even looking at it is likely to distract me down a rabbit hole of wasted time.
I personally have a Nest Thermostat Generation 3 smart thermostat in my home but there are a lot of good smart thermostat options that will work with Alexa. All you need to use Alexa Thermostat Commands with your smart thermostat is the Alexa App and a compatible Alexa device like the Echo Show or the Echo Dot.
I have a variety of different Alexa devices spread throughout my home because I test and review them for you, but I’ve found that my current favorite Alexa devices are the Echo Show 5 with it’s built in touch screen and the Sonos Beam with Alexa built in. The most value minded option for getting started with Alexa voice control is the Echo Dot and you could always upgrade to another Alexa device in the future, but what I’ve found is that having an Alexa device in every room I use on a daily basis helps me complete my tasks quicker and is incredibly convenient for controlling lighting, thermostats and my alarm system.
