Does Nest work with Apple Watch? Yes, the Nest Thermostat works with Apple Watch using the Thermowatch App available on the iOS store.
The Verge reported that the Nest app no longer works with Apple watch because Google has pulled support and updates for the app on iOS Store. Yes, Google has pulled support of the Nest App on Apple Watch but it lead many people to believe they can no longer use their Apple Watch to control Nest which is inaccurate.
You can still control your Nest on Apple watch using 3 party iOS apps.

The developers of Thermowatch have created an app, that allows you to control your Nest Thermostat using your Apple Watch.
They have also created Nest Camera app that allows you to view your Nest Camera feeds on your Apple Watch that can also be downloaded on the iOS store.

Both apps, allow you to use Nest with Siri commands similar to if the devices had HomeKit integration. The Thermowatch app gets a 3.8 rating on the iOS store but after testing out the app I think it works great and a lot of the lower ratings came from the initial release of the app and those issues appear to have been corrected.
It’s simple to use and the developer has good instructions and a support database on their website for frequently asked questions.

Setting up the Nest Thermostat with the Apple Watch is easy:
Download and install the app from the App Store.
Log in to your Nest account by launching the app on your iPhone.
Launch the app on your watch, and spin the digital crown to set the temperature.

Nest is by far one of the most popular smart thermostats of all time, and while it doesn’t have native HomeKit support, it leads people to believe that the Nest Thermostat doesn’t work with iPhones. When in fact Nest works great with iPhones.
I have the Nest Thermostat installed in my home and my wife uses her iPhone almost everyday to turn up or down the Nest thermostat using her iPhone, but she doesn’t do it using HomeKit. She does it just using the standard Nest App which is available on iOS>

HomeKit is Apple’s smart home integration system that provides direct integration with Apple iOS and allows you to control some smart home devices from one app the “HomeKit” app on your iPhone, Apple Watch or use Siri voice commands to control your smart home using Siri voice commands on your phone or Apple Watch.
With HomeKit you can then control your smart devices like smart light bulbs by saying voice commands to your iPhone like “Siri, turn on living room lights.” But just because a device isn’t supported by HomeKit doesn’t mean that you can’t control it on your iPhone. It just means that you can’t control it using Siri voice commands from your phone.
So does Nest work with Apple and all iPhones? Yes, the Nest Thermostat or any of the Nest smart home devices like the Nest Cameras, Nest Smart Locks and Nest Doorbell all work with Apple products like the iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch.

Once you have the Nest thermostat installed and connected to your wifi internet connection, you add it to the Nest App on your iPhone and you can start controlling your Nest Thermostat remotely on your phone. It’s incredibly easy and simple to install in just a few minutes with a screwdriver and a little elbow grease.

How Does Nest Work On Your iPhone?
With the Nest App and you can set your HVAC system to heating or cooling, turn it off or even put it in eco mode which helps you save energy and money. From your iPhone you can control the temperature, set a schedule for your Thermostat, or set the perfect temperature for when you get home from a long day of work and just want to relax. The Nest Thermostat is simple but elegant and works like you would expect it to on an iPhone. In fact the founder of Nest (Tony Fadell) worked at apple for years and was one of their lead product designers on the iPod and iPhone.
With the Nest Thermostat on your iPhone you can also view your HVAC and energy usage history to see how much energy you are saving with your Nest Thermostat. Some studies state that the Nest Thermostat can save up to 10-15% percent in HVAC energy usage in your home yearly. If you place the Nest Thermostat in “Eco” mode when you are away the Nest will start saving you energy. You can also use the great built in features of the Nest and Nest app that can detect when you are away from your home and automatically save you energy or can even make an automatic schedule for you that maximizes energy and comfort by detecting when you come home from work and your daily activity schedule in your home.
The Nest App works on iPhones, iPads and Apple watches. If you want to access your Nest Thermostat through a computer you can also easily do through the Nest Portal with your username and password.
Another neat feature of the Nest Thermostat is that it can be paired with the Nest Room Sensors that are battery powered sensors that can report the temperature in room throughout your home and be used with the Nest Thermostat to hold the temperature in a specific room.
Wait but what Is HomeKit? Any Why Doesn’t Nest Work Worth HomeKit?

HomeKit is Apples’ smart home integration system that provides direct integration with Apple iOS and allows you to control smart home devices from one app the “HomeKit” on your iPhone or use Siri voice commands to control your smart home using Siri voice commands on your home.
If you buy a Nest Thermostat it will work on your iPhone and for all intents and purposes you will be able to control it just like it was intended to be controlled. The only feature you won’t be able to use is voice control of your Nest Thermostat with Siri because the Nest is not HomeKit compatible. But you can still control your Nest Thermostat using voice commands on Amazon Alexa devices like the Echo Show or Echo Dot, or Google Home devices.
The 3rd party Thermowatch App will allow you to control your Nest Thermostat using Siri voice commands that connects to Nest. It’s not a direct HomeKit integration but it works almost the exact same way. Tell Siri to set your Nest thermostat to 72 degrees with your voice and Siri will do it, just as if your Nest Thermostat was connected to HomeKit.
The “ThermoWatch'“ iOS App works for both your iPhone and Apple Watch.

Nest has a great design that I think looks elegant in any home, so I wouldn’t necessarily dismiss the Nest Thermostat just because it doesn’t work have native Apple Watch integration.
